Chicken not eating or drinking much

If the crop is swollen, it may be slow to empty. Water is most important right now. Small amounts of food if they seem hungry, but don’t push it. Grains might be a little harsh for the intestines, unless they are ground finely. Cooked egg, a little yogurt, mushy foods, are food, but water is...

You are not bothering us with your questions. If we are not online, especially with the time difference, then someone else can help you. Yes, put 5 ml in 2 liters for 3 days. Give as much as the chick will drink. I like to dip their beaks into the water for a half second, and then let them...

No injecting, it looks like you just add the 2.5 ml to a liter of drinking water for 3 consecutive days. Make sure they are dinking it or give it with a dropper vety slowly so not to choke them. Glad that you found the sulfadimidine. I have no idea if they will live, but I hope so.

Were you not able to get amprollium or sulfa antibiotics where you live? Sulfadimidine or sulfamethazine would be ones to look for. The transamine is a drug given for bleeding disorders, but should no be used for chickens and coccidiosis. With all of that blood I am not sure that you can save...

The OP is located in Pakistan, and vets, commercial chicken feed and lab tests are pretty scarce. Treating for possible coccidiosis would be pretty harmless. Amprollium is a good first choice, but the sulfa is the knly one available, and sometimes preferred in serious cases. It would be...

Chicken not eating or drinking much

I would use amprollium for cooccidiosis, but since the sulfa is what you have available, I would use it. Follow instructions on the label because sulfa antibiotics can be hard on the kidneys and hearing if overdone.

Sulfadimidine is the same drug as sulfamethazine, the ingredient in Sulmet that used to be available in feed stores in the US until antibiotics were removed from shelves several years ago. It is a sulfonamide that can treat coccidiosis, coryza, and fowl cholera. Sulfadimethoxine is probably a...

Lentils, peas, sesame, flaxseed, and sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast, and kelp are some other things that people can add to homemade feed to supply protein, vitamins, and minerals. Fish meal or ground meat can be added in small amounts. Feed seems to be something may vary in different...

Chicken not eating or drinking much

If you cannot find amprollium, sulfonamide antibiotics may be useful for treating coccidiosis. Sulfamethazine, sulfadimazine, or sulfadimethoxine are ones that might be available in Pakistan. Those can be used in the water. Amprollium is a bit safer, but some may find that it isn’t as available...
