Tube feeding scares me tremendously.

George had plenty to eat this evening, and has not started back with any noises. He was alert and more himself and so far it seems like he's on the up. He did have a stool of better quality, also. I'll be posting another update in the morning.

I've read some articles. Not sure I could do it by myself. I am hoping if he will at least fruits or foods containing water that will help. He did drink a bit last night but nowhere near what he should. I'm interested to see if he starts up again in an hour or so.

I know you've said already temp is possibly unreliable to check on chickens but the vet says anything over 104 is a fever and mercks vet manual says 105-109.5 is normal. I'm curious why chicken health is seems so dodgy...

Also this morning he doesn't feel like a 1 - I think I was in a state of paranoia last night as I was accepting that this was more serious, and potentially fatal, than I had originally anticipated.

He has a rectal temp of 108

The vet said he could have an issue with his GI tract and regurgitation that is causing his gurgling. Really nothing offered. So Kathy, how much do I owe you because you're working harder than him?
