1 drake per 3-4 ducks, as a general rule. Of course, it depends on the drake. A very mild drake can be ok with 2 ducks, but another general rule is the more drakes in a flock, the higher chances of trouble down the road. Edited for spelling

I pretty much already know who is a drake and who isn't by the time those curly tail feathers come in. Usually by 6-7 wks I can hear the difference. I don't know about toxoplasmosis. How old is your duck and what is her normal diet@hennible? Have you picked her up and inspected her...

Cocci is possible, but I think much less likely to occur, than say, egg peritonitis, hardware disease, or other illness. Need more info to help, sorry. What is with all this pulling by the tail feathers business? TotLly unnecessary-- just pick the bird up. 9 out of 10 times, a girl will quack.

No not normal. Is it a skin injury or an injured blood feather? Epsom salt compresses either way, followed by blu coat. Might be slightly different Tx for blood feather injury, never dealt with that myself. I would guess that cornstarch or similar would be appropriate to promote clotting in...

Also if you have 2 drakes, then you will have an all drake flock. As long as no female ducks come near, there should be harmony. :) And if you have a pair, then that should be ok too. Any way I see things, I bet you are just fine.

@blessedholler Did you talk to your neighbor about this? Here, I think I'd expect to be compensated. Laws are also such here that i am 99% positive law enforcement would pay a visit with the ticket machine in hand. Dogs are unpredictable and its horrible when dog owners are not as responsible...

No, should not make any difference to her Spring laying. She's just maturing, her body will come into its own rhythm. Or you're very lucky and will get eggs all winter! :) I have 8 ducks here, 1 egg today and none yesterday.
