1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Hi again, The onagadori died a couple days ago :( I did not have time to take her to a lab. I am now just focusing on my three healthy chicks. I contacted Feather Lover Farms, just to let them know of the issues, and no response whatsoever. I have been looking to write a review on them, and...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Posting a sad update here After no progress with the cream leg bar, I brought her to the vet and she had to be put down. The vet thought it was likely a birth defect. Both legs became rotated and she started showing neurological signs. I came home and the onagadori chick, who had recovered and...

Thanks, I did at the beginning, but we’ve stopped.

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Here’s a photo of her poop. I am not sure about the crop, I am not familiar. I googled sour crop and she doesn’t seem to have any of the symptoms. Yes, the cream leg bars leg is definitely rotated now, this just happened in the last day or two. Originally it was just the toes but now the leg is...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

The yellow one is now slowly walking so I think she’ll be ok! I attached some pictures. Thanks for your thoughts on Crooked foot. I will just keep trying and see how it turns out. She was the largest chick we received so it’s just so surprising, but she’s definitely not growing as fast as the...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

She is eating well now thankfully and seems to be healthy besides her inability to walk. I still can’t tell if it’s an issue with her feet or she’s just not strong enough yet. Our crooked foot chick is struggling to walk also. She’s always laying down, but seems to be able to hobble over to...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Thanks! I think it’s just how she’s holding them, she is able to make them straight. I don’t see any swelling but it’s hard to tell what’s normal. Her chest bone feels really pronounced, but I think that must be because she lost a lot of weight when not eating. When I checked on her last she...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Thank you again for your advice! She’s now able to sit up, with the help of leaning on the wall. I can’t believe her progress :) I attached a picture. We finished the 3rd dose of the concentrated corid yesterday. Should we continue with the corid water for a few more days?

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Just wanted to post an update that she’s finally showing some improvement! She still can’t walk but she’s getting stronger, chirping, drinking and eating a bit on her own :)

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

She cannot move much unfortunately, just sort of flops around when she’s uncomfortable, so maybe I will just make sure the house stays warm. The other chick with the crooked foot is also seeming a bit lethargic, but I’m not sure if it’s just because she has trouble walking. The other chicks...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Ok thank you, I’ll try that as well tonight. She is a fighter! I have been going back and forth on whether to add heat. I had a heating pad under the basket but was afraid she would get too hot. My house is about 70 degrees. Do you think I should add additional heat, or a blanket? She is...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

She doesn’t seem to have improved or declined. She is drinking a bit when I put her beak in the water, but she won’t eat. I mixed some crumbles with the vitamin boost and have been trying to put some in her mouth, but I think she’s only ingested very little.

Thank you, I will give her the concentrated solution as well. The black dot on her head is her feather colors but her skin does look a bit purplish in spots.

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

She has some very tiny feathers on her neck and under her wings, I wonder if the other birds were pecking at her when I wasn’t around. Not sure if there’s much else I can do for her but I’ll keep trying to get her to drink and eat. :(

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Update, I stuck her beak in the medicated water and she did drink. I mixed the vitamins with her food but haven’t been able to get her to eat.

I came home and she is looking very bad. I have powdered corcid, what would be the dose?

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

She does look puffed up in this photo (which I read could be a symptom). I was giving them acp in their water for the first 3 weeks but stopped recently. Would it hurt to treat her just in case?

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

Thank you, I will check on her when I go home for lunch in a few hours and post an update on both the food date and what her poop is looking like, as well as photos. We thought it was her legs originally because she wasn’t getting up, but it doesn’t look like anything is wrong with them, so I...

1 Sick Chick, 1 Crooked Foot & 1 Wing Issue

No, not really, we do have the food and water on a block of wood so it’s off the ground, but besides that there’s nothing else in there. Thanks for your help. We’re going to attempt a splibr to see if we can straighten it out a little. She is still thankfully able to walk, just not roost. Have...
