Very sorry things are not looking up yet. The polyvisol/sugar concoction is your best chance of your little one making it. If you have a shot glass, add one drop with a dash of sugar to water and mix. Use a teaspoon and put a spoonful under his beak to offer at least once per hour. We knew...

X2 what Lydia said. If you cannot find poultry drench, then get polyvisol (without iron) drops at your local rite aid or walmart. 1-2 drops per 8 oz and a dash of sugar really helps get weaker ones going well. Also, keep a close eye on the 100 watt heat lamp, as it usually gets too hot for...

CONGRATS!! I would quickly open bator to slip a kitchen towel under him, then leave him for 3-4 hours. I would use the rubbermade tub and a 100 watt regular light bulb for 1st day, adjusting height based on how duckling is behaving. I would also have a couple of stuffed animals in there.

Looks to be super close now! Keep a close eye that he continues and does not quit at this point. I am not a fan of styrofoam for a container. Do you have a large rubbermaid tub?

Brownish usually means the blood has receded at fat end, but it takes a while to work all the way into the duckling. Plus, he is also absorbing the yolk sac into abdomen. It generally takes a very long time to hatch.

One more tip: Once he starts zipping, which shouldn't be too much longer, the duck should turn in the direction of the staining, which is counterclockwise if look at egg fat end toward you. The brownish filmy lining under the shell piece is the inner membrane and yes, the veins run through...

Your ducky is doing great. I do believe he internally/externally pipped at the same time, which happens if you did not lose enough moisture during incubation and the air cell was on the small side, which is why it is taking so long. As for a brooder, any container will do, so long as there...

Still looking good. Yellowing is fine.

I would not open bator if in the bedroom. The progress sounds really good. Your ducky should establish a pattern of rest/activity and so long as he continues to do his thing, leave the bator alone. It is normal for them to work on enlarging hole in same place for hours, then turn position and...

Clicking sound means all is well. I'd leave him be for now and check with steth every 1-2 hours. If you are not using a fan, the temps are low, which generally slows the process. However, do not adjust temp at this point. If you are using a fan and your humidity is still 72 or lower, you may...

There are a few theories.... 1. Your duck may have had to break through outer shell to internally pip and therefore the time it will take to hatch is double. 2. Your duck may be taking longer because the temps are not warm enough. 3. Your duck may be shrinkwrapped because humidity too low; or...

I would add water through the vent holes with aquarium air pump tubing.

Nicely done on your duckling's part. The dark blue-ish staining is from your duckling hitting a vein in the inner membrane when pipping. Normally that is a bad sign. However your duck is almost in normal hatching position and the fact that it externally pipped is excellent. External pipping...
