Ours have to wait until hunting season. Once that comes, they bring their whole extended family. Anyone that can get a tag does and they get as many as they can every season
If he orders in new chicks, I'd recommend just getting whatever the minimum order for turkeys is and keeping a male from there. Nice thing about the heritage turkeys is that they also can roost
The ones at fair for market had to be 25lbs I think for males and they were 5 months typically at the absolute oldest usually more like 4if I remember right
Ours had fencing (and with other weapons like daggers, the flails without the chain, axes, broad swords) on display all day by the ones who were in charge. All fake weapons, obviously, but still very cool to watch.
