As you all know blue breasted reds don't breed true...if you breed blue red X blue red you get 25% black breasted red...50% blue red...and 25% splash (sport) .....is there anyway to tell ...on day old chicks.... the difference between the bb reds and the blue reds? Also can you tell the sex...
we love the self blue oeg`s we have several chicks and 2 show roos and 2 show quality hens we are breeding out of and no problem getting eggs we keep 3 bators full all year...
you may can get better if you keep breeding them. he does stand good though if this was your first time trying that cross not bad... I am a red pyle man myself and I have some no no`s I am trying to fix also
overall he is not a bad looking bird however his wings are a little to low and his chest is not real big but he has a good tail and of course color is not great. I am by no means downing your bird just giving a opinion.
I dont have the Tim Shelton one mine is by Jeff and William Richardson and as I said it has all the answers to just about any question. I am going to look into that other one also.
yes a must have we also have one that is called old english game bantams as bred and shown in the united states that gives all the details on color, what to breed with what to get ? and what to cull and what to keep etc. I found it to be a must also for bantams which is what we raise
