Unplug things not in use. Just being plugged in uses current. If you have lots of things plugged in now you can drop you power bill $25 - 40 doing this. A hair dryer, toaster, coffee maker use alot of power.
Also use strip outlets.

The lady I get my milk from has a very small parlour. She milks 4 jerseys right now. Her cows are on pasture 365 days a year. No grain, only grass fed. It is the best milk I have ever had in my life. I go pick up my milk this afternoon. 3 gallons a week. Stored in Glass jugs that I provide...
I have only been in dairy barns with a milking parlour that is all concrete and raised platforms. I forget some people may have to do it otherwise.
I will say this- beyond the smell of cow poop - love the warm smell of cows and horses and other livestock.
