    that's very cool! made when Leibniz and Newton (amongst others) were active! we are pummeled by storm after storm too; I'm amazed they've got any rain left in them by the time they get there, given the amount they dump on us first 🙃

    the word invasion is quite emotive, indicating aggression/violence, unlike immigration, which just means migration into a country. absolutely. And in anglophone societies, there is an obvious preference for other anglophone countries!

    It is not often/only/usually because of invasion. For example, America is full of all sorts, including lots of Irish, not because they invaded, but because they left their homelands, for all sorts of reasons.

    for comparatives of adjectives ending in -y change the y to i and add -er, so easy, easier :D

    I don't know about that but the birds are at least unconscious when killed. For me their living conditions are more of a concern - in commercial poultry sheds worldwide.

    the law here for commercial operations is that any animal be stunned/unconscious before slaughter, but backyard keepers are left to their own devices I think. I saw a TV show last week that featured a chicken plant in the Netherlands (which apparently supplies about 25% of UK consumption!)...
