My guess is pullet. At 10 weeks, I was pretty sure of the sex of my birds. ended up with 2 cockerels and 2 pullets. The pullets had pinkish combs at 9 weeks old. Still do, but now at 12 weeks the cockerels are very red.
BTW.... I posted a couple of weeks ago about having a very aggressive roo chick... well, I broke him of it and now he is a sweet as can be. I put him in "jail" and for a few days in the afternoon, he free ranged with the big girls. Except for the normal play fighting... all is well.
I have heard that feather sexing does not work with this breed. Keep track of them though. It could be interesting. I also have Lav Ams. 3 hatched Lavender and one hatched black, but will breed lavender. The guess on mine is 2 lav are roo and two and pullet.
I do believe that I cured the mean little roo. A few days in jail and free range with the big girls during the day put him in his place. Today her was with his siblings and there were NO fights. Just play time. I will keep him a couple of months more and then sell him.
I live in North Idaho and would like to know if anyone would like a Lavender Ameraucana roo? Currently 5 weeks old. He is aggressive toward his siblings, so I do not want to keep him. I am 95% sure that he is a young roo. I have another gentle Lav Am roo, but I will hold on to him until I am...
Hey all.... any guesses on my 3 week old Lavender Ameraucanas?
#1............... possible pullet.
Roo
Pullet??
pullet?? I am hoping that at least one of the Lavender colored ones is a pullet. The last one is Little Bit. If it turns out to be a pullet I will keep her.
