Well my girls are being mischievous they are jumping the fence and laying eggs under a tree and of course we don't have a gate there and have to walk about 1000 yds to get to them or boost my youngest daughter over the fence.
We gave our Bresse a huge fenced area and a very large coop in expectations of having a good sized flock for meat purposes. Just hoping I like them as much as everyone else does.
Mine have thrived since I moved them to there new coop and pen, they don't have an acre more like a 1/3 of an acre but they are doing so much better. We are still waiting on eggs but hopefully soon. I feed mine Flockraiser form Purina it seems to do well with the birds.
I am not sure we buy a lot of chicks and chickens from GFF and have always had an acceptable loss rate, except one batch that we lost nearly everyone but that could have been shipping stress. We have no idea what these chicks go through.
Thanks for the link to the splash Bresse, even though GFF said they sent a freebie it doesn't look like it.
Oh well they are still gorgeous chicks and it will be great waiting to see what they are.
