"Question. I got an Isbar today. The lady sold her becauses she lays brown eggs. What else could she be to not lay green eggs? I don't care, she's beautiful, calm and wonderful. Just curious as what she is crossed with or what makes her lay brown eggs." Do you know if she's from the new line...

I'd said..."Some will, in appearance, look like Isbars... but when you start breeding them, other genes express themselves. Some come from GFF looking markedly 'different' than pure Isbars." I meant to say some genes may express themselves.

He's a beautiful rooster, cuti. The white 'spots'/marks on his breast don't look right to me. Now as for what's happened to Isbars with this new line, I have suspicions, and I don't trust the new line. I may be wrong... but I may be right, too. I've expressed my doubts/suspicions to a...

Somewhere on this thread, not too long ago, someone was talking about some of the Isbars they got from GFF had pea combs. I'd imagine it's rare, but YIKES! Maybe they were mistaking the stunted-like combs for pea combs, like you suggested. I dunno. I'll re-ask your question to...

OH Gimme, I'm sorry!!! I didn't know that part. No telling what's going on, then, huh? That'd sting. He's a pretty rooster, he just doesn't look like a 'full' Isbar.

There seems to be problems with GFF's new line of Isbars. Pea combs, tan eggs, red hackles, really strange body colors.... more than 1 or 2 people, on BYC, have expressed concerns regarding Greenfire Farms integrity. Their new line has looked 'different' to me ever since I saw the first pic...

Hi DC, Lawatt and everyone. I've been working on Ice Cream Bars, too using a blue Isbar roo X Cr. Legbar hens, then a black Isbar X CL hens. None of the chicks had the chipmunk stripes. Some are blue, most are dark. I don't know about y'alls, but of the 11 (8 girls 3 boys) there seems to be...

Hi Carla, Yes, I've had some of the same happen with my Isbars. Here's what I think I know about it. They do flip on their backs.. a lot, during the first day/day and a half. I'll go in and check on them ever half hour or so, and flip 'em back on their bellies. Sometime during the 2nd...
