Picking on one another usually never lasts long with ducks,unless its drakes,they can go back and fourth all day.My pekin is so selfish towards eh ancona drake always raping his hens and chasing him off,its crazy.
When drakes are young they have a small quack in the back of their baby peeps,all ducklings do.My drake actually started the quacking wheeping scream first,and once he aged it turned into the raspy type voice.Infact my khakis were quite when tiny,my pekins always are loud and obnoxious.
I had 3 with I think 9 females,but hens started getting killed and one died,so now it is just 4 hens and 2 drakes with a goose.They are starting to mate a lot more now so bare necks have not started.
yeah drakes go fir the below area,generlly unless its a young drake,takes them awhile to figure it all out.My hens usually always have bare necks,never heads.

Isnt her crest near the top of her head?Ducks usually grab the neck.i think crest were made a certian way so that their crest wouldnt get pulled out by drakes.
I had two more khakis but the drake git killed a long time ago and the other female got killed by an unknown predator,but that was just back in decmeber i think.The drakes are ok too,mine could fly.
Drakes are mire friendly it seems.By 3 ir 4 months you may be able tell.I remmebr one of my pekin drakes at about 3 1/2 minths would chase me to get hia girl.He would also call to her.

I have had Khaki camobells,and still have a 3 year old hen,about to be four.Their great little ducks with big attitude.Ducks do not bond as well with humans when other ducks are present,but as ducklings their pretty friendly.Helding and hand feeding will help them,A lot.Just talking to them does...
