Here’s my last hatchling from my first 3 eggs that were due this weekend. 100% hatch rate and all looking good. :) all very similar in colouring, with 2 being a bit lighter, and only one with clean legs. Can’t wait til next weekend when their next 2 siblings are due to hatch. :P
@UThobbyfarmer great job! Sometimes they just need that tiny bit of help. Especially shipped eggs.
my second egg hatched overnight, but last night when I checked on it, it was still internally pipped but hadn’t externally pipped yet. I looked closer at the egg and it had tried multiple...
First one is out, while I’m stuck at work for the morning. But looks good, great set of lungs on that one. Lol. I love having cameras on my incubators on hatch days. :P
I have my first pip in the 3 due tomorrow/Sunday! 🥳 it started peeping like mad when I opened the lid quickly to add water. Lol. This is my favorite part even though it’s nerve wracking.
A week to go on the first 3 I set! All are doing well still, active and right on schedule. I added another couple the following week and 3 more this morning, so I’ll have a staggered hatch, but that’s nothing new around here. Haha. Hoping to get a bigger incubator this year but covid is making...
Icelandic cockerel over a wooly Hedemora pullet. :) I’ve got 3 young Hedemora cockerels to eventually choose from to put her with but they’re too little to be thinking about girls just yet. Haha.
I’ve got 3/3 developing from my own birds, on day 4&5. I didn’t think fertility was going to be an issue but you never know. Curious to see if these turn out smooth or wooly, if they hatch of course. Don’t want to jinx myself. Haha.
Had everyone singing the egg song yesterday so hoping the...
Yay I have development in at least one egg I put in for my experiment so far! I’m just wanting to see what the chicks will look like from this cross, and apparently I can’t wait to fire up the incubator even though it’s early January and I still have like 2.5-3 months of winter to go. 🤣
