Asteele, where are you located? If you're close enough, I'll split an order from Holderread's with you next spring. About that time, I'll be looking to expand my flock a little more. And yeah, I think it also really depends on the line. My WHs aren't as social as others have said theirs are...

Asteele01, it really depends on how much you handle them and where you get them. I got my WHs from a breeder who didn't really do a lot of handling, so, even though I bought three-day-old ducklings, they weren't super eager to be handled. I didn't handle them overly often; often enough to spend...

I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to keep my drake. I would like to add one more gold phase hen. Then I will have one WH drake, and four WH hens as my starting point.

I think we have a hen who's laying eggs! (: If it's just one hen, then she's laid an egg each day since she started(which is just three days, lol). I'm waiting until Spring to hatch any eggs.

Really? That seems a bit much. I figured that, as they're a calmer breed, the drakes are less likely to be quite so amorous. Unfortunately, on our property, we are only permitted six fowl in total, and we have five. One drake and four hens. So far, our drake has been very polite and has not...

Hey, Jessie, do you have a side picture? The most definite way to tell silver phase from gold phase is the wing bar. If the wing bar is blue, it's a silver phase. If the wing bar is bronze/brown, it's a gold phase. Silver Phase Hen: Gold Phase Hen:

Of course! (: Haha Pyrrhos would do great in a show, lolol. I think Nyx is too light for showing, but her demeaner is very chill and quiet. Erebus is pretty quiet, I'd just like to get him used to being shown.

Wow! She's super pretty! I guess I should start getting Erebus used to being in a cage and such, too. I plan on showing him in January.

My Welsh Harlequins will be fourteen weeks old tomorrow! (: Here's Erebus, the one I want to show in January: My gold phase, Eris, who I'm hoping will give me a good amount of gold phase ducklings when I do start keeping the babies instead of selling them: I'll edit this post...

How long does it usually take for WH's legs to change color? Hokankai, I don't really know for sure, but I think you usually have to wait until they're a few months old to really say for sure if they're going to be show quality. My guys are just now getting their colors in, and they're 13...

Ohh, okay. I guess my ducklings were all just really light because I never noticed them all getting black caps. But then again, I was gone since they were six weeks up til nine weeks, so I probably just missed it.
