    The Rhodebar thread!

Center, far back, you will see a VERY dark striped female (directly behind gray colored BPR), to this day she looks VERY different from the others, again leading me to believe I have cleanup work to do with the breed.

Here is the offspring. The black are BPR that were accidentally mixed in with RB eggs, according to her they never were breed together, so they can be ignored. I see that I have one really light male, top left corner, and two darker males in right side, which makes me think they are not pure...

    The Rhodebar thread!

From first post to this thread: "I purchased 2 dozen fertile eggs from a lady I found on craigslist, she said she got hers from rarebreed.com, and that those were from Green Fire stock. The Rhodebar thread!

OK, after posting to this thread, I went back and read everything up until page 120. This is fascinating, and very important too. Unfortunately, just when I think I understand what I need to do, I realize I have no clue whatsoever. My goal is to have a flock of true breeding, darker colored...

    The Rhodebar thread!

Here is the only picture I have of them as chicks. I wasn't as enthusiastic then as I am now, otherwise I'd have many more, and much closer up too. The black ones are BR birds, so you can disregard those. Like I mentioned previously: "I purchased 2 dozen fertile eggs from This Lady, she said...

    The Rhodebar thread!

Hello everyone! This thread is fantastic; I'm very excited to possibly join in on the breeding fun. I'm new to chickens, but have a passion for them (and ranching, but that's not related to this). I purchased 2 dozen fertile eggs from This Lady, she said she got hers from rarebreed.com, and...
