I'm sorry I somehow missed your post. How is your little one doing now? Isolation may help. I have found a calm quiet environment can help ease symptoms and they may eat better which certainly helps.

Frick01 gave you good advice. Regardless of whether it was caused by an injury or a vitamin deficiency the addition of vitamin E/selenium and polyvisol will be helpful in his recovery. You may want to add vitamin B as well or look for a poultry vitamin to add to drinking water that has B...

How long has she been like this? If it were me I would start the vitamins because they certainly won't hurt. Also extra protein either with scrambled eggs or canned fish or a higher protein food like grower may help her heal. I hope she improves.

You sound like an awesome chicken mum :) I know how frustrating it is...one day at a time. I hope your girls all recover quickly. A death in the flock seems to unbalance some. I swear my top hen is still grieving the loss of her sister 3 weeks ago :( they used to cuddle together every afternoon...

I understand your feelings on steroids. I personally didn't use it with my little guy (only because in all of my research I hadn't heard of it). Here's what I gave my guy: 2 drops polyvisol without iron 1/2 50mcg tablet selenium crushed 1 B complex vitamin crushed 1 400 IU vitamin E I will...

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and your struggle with wry neck. Here's a good article to read if you haven't already found it. http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Article/Crookneck/Crookneck.html Selenium is important to add to ensure the vitamin E is being absorbed. And i personally found the...

What a cute name! Don't give up hope. Recovery from wry neck can be a slow process with 2 steps forward and 1 back. In my experience symptoms are more pronounced in the evening. So none of her hatch mates made it out of the shell at all? Were they in an incubator or under a broody?

I think with potatoes it's just the skin that you shouldn't feed them. I give mine leftover potatoes all the time-no ill effects. There can be a chemical present in uncooked potatoe skins that is poisonous. As for tomatoes I hadn't heard that! Mine wait until they are perfectly red and juicy and...

Sorry to hear about your little guy. I'm afraid I don't have much advice to offer other than providing some additional vitamins in his water and extra protein if you can get it in him (scrambled eggs, boiled chicken, or fish, yogurt, cheese shreds) Honestly his symptoms don't sound like it's wry...

Any progress is good! My little guy also hatched unable to stand with wry neck. To be honest it took 3 months before he was symptom free. Then everytime I stopped his meds he relapsed. I usually found mornings were his best time. Evenings were bad and his head would be upside down again. I...

Agree with Dirk 100%! Keep going and don't stop treatment abruptly. Even if she seems cured I would continue for another week and then wean off instead of abruptly stopping. My little guy still gets a once weekly dose of vitamin E, selenium and vitamin B complex. I was unable to get a poultry...

I added vitamin B complex when my chick was 2 weeks old because i wasnt seeing much improvement. It was after adding that he started to get better. I used human vitamin B complex (1/2 pill crushed into food each day). Good luck

My guess would be yes but I have no idea how quickly vitamins and such break down. If you are seeing improvement then keep doing what you're doing...that's my theory!

Once my guy was eating well I gave his crushed meds on a 1/4 cucumber as he loved it and always ate everything. You could sprinkle it on a small amount of moistened crumbles if she eats that well. The polyvisol/vit E best given orally although I did start putting the vit E on his crumbles once...
