HI, I am a little unsure what day these are on? But I would not toss them yet if the hen is sitting tight.. She knows if there are live chicks or not. Also do not know if these are her eggs or shipped????
If they are hers....they may spread out a bit. I leave my eggs usually about a week.......
Sorry about your mishap..................It has happened to many of us.............
I bought two eggs for $10.00 a piece one time........................and dropped them..................
I certainly agree that each broody is different. I have a Serama hen with three chicks.
She also covers her sister with her wing at night.......to silly. I'll try to remember to take a pic.
I am just wondering if any one has had this experience.
I have another Serama hen with one...
My Marans hen could handle 12 no problem.
I had a silly Wyandotte last year about this time that, after being missing for almost a month,
Strolled into the barn followed by 18 babies.......... could not believe they could handle that many..............
Good Luck
my best guess is they are alright............
Had this happen with a broody who just liked to leave the box for long periods........
Don't know how cold it is where you are????????
Hopefully the worst that would happen is they might be a day late................
What perfect pictures............
I have an old hen that not only keeps hers till they are huge but took on chicks from two other hens this year..
Should have taken a pic.............She is blrw........
I'm just not sure because I believe EE's mature a little later than some breeds.
I have a 6 month old BO that is not breeding yet........so no upsets ....
Being raised together, you may never have problems...........
Actually, until yesterday we had 11 cockerels in our flock and the Main Roo
let...
HI, I agree it sounds like your friend has had a bad experience.........
Might ad, if this were true, we would not have chickens, the moms would have killed them all...........
Mom will not squash the chicks and they will thrive much better with her..............And as they previous person...
HI, As you will notice reading ...many of us do things differently for what ever reason fits our situation.
I do want to give you a heads up about the eggs...........collect what you want her to set and give them to her all a the same time.
Also, mark the eggs you give her with a pencil or?? so...
Mine are never that thrilled about my handling their chicks............I just pick one up anyway..
She will be more concerned about the rest of them to put up much of a fuss.
Soon they will move to fast to catch them..................
Just depends on the hen some will, some won't....no matter what breed..............
You will just have to try and be there to watch...................Good Luck
Hi Johnn,
I love that little bird. She is so pretty.............She looks perfect to me........
Have you named her? I'm still voting for Rosie..............but you know her personality so may
find something better...................
Thanks again for the update on pictures........................
Oh Betty.I think you have a broody..................
One of my pullets went broody this year at 7 months of age and did a great job.. Her sound might be she is telling you she is happy.........
One of my hens turns into the biggest lover when brooding. They don't read the book you know...
