How much space did the squash plants take? I just have this visual of my entire yard taken over by giant squash plants...........

I made the curried squash soup from the butternut squash - very good. I also tried baking an acorn squash. I'm not crazy about the texture - but I'm one of those people that's weird about food textures. I think I'll stick to the butternut. maybe I'll grow some next summer - are they easy to grow?

I think I'll try soup next. I saw a recipe for curried squash soup - sounds good!

I knew I asked at the right place. Thanks for all the suggestions - I'm going to try several. The squash looks like this but many in the bin had longer necks.

It's the kind with the long neck - think that's butternut. I thought I remembered my aunt making pumpkin pies with it. What else?
