We decided to put her down. After 12 hours, her food did not dissolve and her comb kept getting purple...
Was it the right decision? To put her out of her misery?
@LaFleche and @KRack , can I give both antibiotics and cocci medicine together? Her head movement looks a bit better now. And can I change the antibiotic to Vibramycin?
Please don't be sorry. It is what it is...
I actually lost my most dear hen to EYP last Friday. Which isn't even a full week yet. As @LaFleche has said, her comb is looking purple and is cold. Which is not a good sign.
I'll start her with cocci medicine right away then. And I know how...
I'm not giving her any medication other than the antibiotics. I'll stop that and try to treat her for cocci then. Or maybe...it's just better to cull her? She is in pain right now. So much so that she can't even walk properly. Should I wait till tomorrow or put her down after a few hours?
How many days do you recommend continuing with the treatment? Should I treat her bumblefoot because it is difficult for her to walk with such pain.
We will take her to the butcher shop and ask him to put her down like with did with my previous hens.
Should I try another antibiotic? Her head is almost bopping up and down and she has little to no energy to walk on her own. Her comb color has gotten better actually (first is her recent picture) I hand fed her half scrambled egg and moro carrot soup along with antibiotics and little banana...
Cancer...? What about those green things? Aren't they worms?
Is that why she stopped laying so early?
Can we please get some more opinions?
This dropping had blood
Her perception is messed up. She'll peck a bit up if I have feed on my hands. A bit right, left, up and down. She is having difficulty pecking the right place. We might put her down if she doesn't get better today.
They didn't do anything. The vet could only tell that she has bumblefoot but he said that the chicken pus is liquid etc. He also suggested to inject some vitamins and antibiotics into her but I was uncomfortable with it. So I just asked him to deworm her.
Cupcake's recent droppings have this...
She is feeling a bit better than before because she is drinking water on her own. But she is drinking a lot of it. Her crop has nothing but water and the soup now. Should I try to take out her pus from the foot? I'm afraid since she isn't feeling well, a lot pain might cause her to go into a...
She is looking worse today.
When I let them out to free range, she sat down outside the coop. When a hen came, she even put her head down and for a second there I thought she was dead because she was not picking her head on her own.
I immediately gave her the carrot soup and antibiotics. Her...
