    Yes the hormones in the teen agers is a problem I have not been able to solve this year due to time restraints. Not the number problems you have.

    Chris - I don't think white has a bearing on Hawk kills in Dels . They are fairly good size and here most Hawk prey is dark [Turkey polts etc]. All my Hawk loses have been black broilers. I have lost two Dels to I presume Owls because it was night and the chickens were not supposed to be out...

    Bobby - its not a problem its just learning - If you just want eggs and chicken friends hatchery will fit the bill - if you want a homestead bird with a little less egg production but meat potential find a quality breeder. Good luck - Either way its a great breed.

    They usually have a great temperament - you will most likely like it.

    Odds are higher they are pullets but all lines are different . Depends on the strain. Had one last year at 16 weeks tail said Cockerel and comb said pullet - finally determined pullet at about 20 weeks

    looks a little pointed in tail but picture from back would tell - should be a wide T-pee look- still young however
