I understand this very well, I delt with a similar situation after my mom passed. Hers wouldn't have been quite as bad except it was basically abandoned for over a year, and had major pest issues.
:hugs
Finally had a day (most of anyway) of no rain. Should be starting back up in a few hours. I wouldn't mind so much if the bits of sunny weather the last few weeks hadn't caused a growth explosion in the yard. Hard to keep up if it is pouring. Anyway, got a bunch of plants planted and weeds pulled...
A new Wilco farm store location just opened near me, I went yesterday and they had lots of freebies 😁
Got a couple of signs
and this pretty garden stake.
Alinta laid her first egg of the year, so pointy!
Brenna laid the next day (extra happy about this as she rarely lays) and Rosie laid an odd fat monster egg.

Watching the eclipse in 2017 was amazing, it is such a cool thing to experience. I was going to try a peak at it here (30%) but I was at work and the timing was awkward.
I have definitely done some stair sliding, can't remember if cardboard was involved or not, sheets once for sure. We didn't have stairs in most places we lived.
The weather yoyo is making me nuts too, sunny and 70s on Tuesday, not sure it hit 50 yesterday (hasn't today) and we just got a frost watch for tonight.
"Any water left in there?"
"Nope"
Full of rain again today of course.
One chicken or two?
Officially 60° (14) but my thermometer is reading almost 80 and its not even in full sun!
Had a glide by from a bald eagle this morning, you have to zoom way in to see it.
The ladies are hiding in deep shade
It is officially chicken spring here, Rosie starting laying this week. Sadly I broke the first one in my pocket while cleaning the coop 😜
Rosie laying also means the other two are up to their escapist tricks.
