    We got our first egg!.... from 17 week old Dominique. It's so brown and tiny and cute.

    My children and hubby heard the egg song today!!!! I checked pelvic bone few days ago on my reddest Dominique and it was two fingers. Are we getting close? Isn't the song supposed to be after the egg not before? There is no eggs in the nesting boxes but maybe we should look in the run more closely?

    I have three 15 week olds. No eggs yet. What are the signs that they are about to start laying? I've noticed my Dominique has developed quite impressive wattles, and her comb turned quite red. The other's combs seem reder as well. I'm not sure about squatting. What else should I look for...
