    hey pyxis one of my chicks has splayed legs. trying give it hobbles but just handleing her makes her kick wildly and that seems to injure the leg more. everything i've read says that a splayed legged chick isnt going to make it. one farms site says something like .."the longer you nurse them...

    i've eliminated a fair number of the raccoons, the remaining one are too fat and lazy. we got tons of great horned owls but i've never had a problem. there are lots and lots of cottontails on the cape. i counted 12 in my yard last week, so i think that explains what the owls are eating...

    I was a huge commerical chicken farm, and I guess when he didn't come in for breakfast after the morning chores. So like only a couple of hours at max. I've seen like 20 chickens eat one of Their sisters in a few hours, so I don't doubt it.

    It like been in the high 40's by midday here. My emus are dropping feathers everywhere. Almost like they are shedding their winter coat. Don't remember this last spring. Anybody else seeing this. Also, if any non emu owners want some feathers. I think they would be great for tying streamers...
