A little bit of road rage!

You like saying I said thing I didn't so I'm stepping out of this thread. I sad I was not changing lanes just because someone wants to speed but I'm not going to block anyone ether. EMS is not about speed its about people an equipment. An speeding because someone has gone in to labor is risking...

A little bit of road rage!

Ive jumped a few fences to land a "UFO" in peoples back yard. We pick the closes field to the scene. Scared a lot of people over the years. An im sure the red lights are the only thing that kept me from getting shot more than once.

A little bit of road rage!

Cant point ya to the study. It was quoted to me from a State Trooper when we were working a wreck where someone got hit when they tried to change lanes to get out of the way of a speeder. A Tennessee Highway Patroll that was there agreed with him So I took it as true. It has held true threw out...

A little bit of road rage!

Around here the right lane is running around 15 MPH below the speed limit. To change lanes to let speeders past requires abrupt moves to change speed an merge. People that try to run faster than everyone else dont really get ahead. Maybe a half mile over a 15 minute drive. But you risk everyones...

A little bit of road rage!

Actually there is more deaths from people trying to change lanes to get out of the way of speeders than there are from people maintaining lane an slowing down. Ive seen it first hand. Not that it matters but Ive also had to body bag people cause someone else thought they had a right to go that...

A little bit of road rage!

Here is what I said about medical emergencys. Quote: I dont drive beside people, thats never safe but I am not changing lanes to let someone else speed. If I slow down I will take the right lane. If I change lanes to let them buy I then have to change back to pass the slower cars then back...

A little bit of road rage!

Actually the manual says its your job to keep a buffer in front an to the sides to give you "outs." As for behind you it says that the correct safe response to a tailgater is to slow down. You are not in control of followers distance but you are in control of the speed that you are going when...

A little bit of road rage!

Again I dont see it as my job to weave back an forth from lane to lane so other people can break the law. Besides, if ya ain't got a siren on I'm not looking in my mirror. I'm only require to know what is going on in front of me an beside me. Now If I'm driving slow I will watch behind me but...

A little bit of road rage!

looked it up. Washington has a law that you must always stay right unless you are driving faster than everyone else. ......So in essence only speeder should be in that lane...... Virginia is the only state that requires you to get out of the way of speeders. Most other states including New...

A little bit of road rage!

Quote: Every state has a minimum. I said that... As for the changing lanes or staying right, go read your laws. I bet I'm right.

A little bit of road rage!

No you can change lanes to get on an off or at interchanges but you cant change lanes over an over because of slow or fast cars. Changing lanes is the most dangerous thing most people do on the highway an doing it excessively is a hazard. I think its something like 80% of crashes on multilane...

A little bit of road rage!

Some states do have a law that says you cant keep changing lanes. You are required to pic a lane an stay in it.

A little bit of road rage!

What ever yalls signs say I bet the law reads the same. An everywhere has a minimum on the interstate system. Thats why its called the "Restricted" system. You have to maintain that to even be on that road. Its not unforced in the mountain regions though.

A little bit of road rage!

Quote: Never seen a sign that said that in my life. I have seen them say slow moving vehicles keep right except to pass. The law says that anyone that cant maintain a reasonable speed should stay right. It does not say to stay right out of the way of people breaking the law. As for emergence...

A little bit of road rage!

If I'm running the limit an I'm in the way of you speeding...... Tough cookies. The left lane is for the speed limit an the right lane is for slower. There is not a law to stay right. Unless you have a strobe light on ya I dont have a reason to move out of your way.

A little bit of road rage!

I was towing a tractor last week an someone pulled out in front of me. I changed lanes in to on coming traffic to keep from hitting them in the back but took my lane back after my truck cleared them.... The tractor on the other hand was at there door.... Tractor was tied down pretty good cause...
