IF the blue chick is a pullet I bet you can separate her when they start to lay and the egg color will be so different. Once you figure out HER egg color you could put her back in the flock with the BCM roo and hatch the eggs separate. Did that make any sense?

I say give it a shot. People buy fertile eggs from Trader Joes all the time and hatch chicks from them even after refrigeration. Search google for "trader joes chicks". I couldn't believe it, but it's true.
