The last Delaware egg had a chick in there that was in no way going to get out of that egg. It was not in a position to hatch at all and expired. So, I ended up with six out of seven hatching clean as a whistle. One is still hock-walking, though, and cries out if another one steps on it, so I'll...
Have six little Dels in the brooder now. The last egg is viable (candled to be sure I wasn't waiting for nothing and saw movement) but has not pipped yet.

I have one Delaware hatched, four others pipped and two not pipped that I can tell.
Seems they rock from Day 18 till almost pip time. Then, they get very still, like the calm before the storm. Probably they have just grown too big to do much by that point.
Moved 7 Delawares to the hatcher just now. Two other sets are going into Day 9 (all Delawares) and Day 4 (BBS Orps, Dels and one DelxEE). Love when an egg starts rocking just after I transfer them over! Brooder is set up and ready.

I set 20 eggs seven days ago and candled tonight. Of the 12 BBS Orps, not one was developing--sadly, I think Suede is losing fertility at four years of age. His own sire lost his about this time. Usually, at least Smoky's are fertile, but not this time. The lone egg from my big hen Meg was too...
