I explained it to you in the quote from another source. If the duck doesn't have a crest, it can not "carry" the gene as is stated on that farm website you provided.

Just don't breed crested ducks, you will get rid of the gene (for the most part)
If the Ducks don't have a crest, they don't carry the gene itself. But it could crop up if breeding closely (incest)
before you decide to breed this crested duckling, I recommend researching about the gene and its lethal form. I won't breed crested ducks for just this reason, not worth it for a birth deformity that severely inhibits the integrity of the lines.
