Np problems with them eating kitty litter. Get the white unscented for white birds. Do not use clumping litter. Just the good old clay stuff. Clean feet, put up crests, use pop bottle waterers, and screen the litter every day.Simple.
I kept all my Silkies on Kitty litter, which was screened every day. They lived in show coops. The 2 key words in keeping Silkies in good condition are Clean, and Dry. Keeping them on wire breaks foot feathering.
This ad is on Ebay. I'd swear that I've seen members post some of these photos here. This seller used my Buff Orp's photo last week. If these are your birds , please report Fraud to eBay.

One caution in looking up Grey color in Silkies in the ABA Standard. Make sure it says for Silkies. Grey Silkies are a different color than other breeds who are called Grey in color;.
Those combs and swept back crests say boy to me. The Black is obviously out of BBS breeding, and is really not a true black. You are seeing blue under fluff in the photos, not black.A true black is black to the roots.
In a few weeks you will see that comb grow, if it is a male. Sometimes Silkies will fool you . I always went on stance. An Orp male chick stands differently from a pullet too.
Try giving that chick POLY-Vi-Sol vitamins without iron for a week or two.Sometimes a shortage of B vitamins can cause neurological symptoms. like that.
YEARS AGO I ASKED ABOUT 20 ABA + APA JUDGES TO DESCRIBE THE COLORING OF A CORRECT PARTRIDGE SILKIE TO ME. I WROTE DOWN THEIR COMMENTS. NO 2 DESCRIPTIONS WERE ALIKE ! THE ONLY THING IN COMMON WAS THAT THEY ALL WANTED TO SEE PARTRIDGE MARKINGS IN THE WING BOWS.COLORS WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT...
If you have already paid for your birds to enter, just chalk it up to fate that you cannot show. Think of what you could cost so many others by bringing exposed birds to a show. You really need to think about this from the other exhibitors' viewpoint. Would you want someone to expose YOUR birds ?
I've seen lots of Too Pretty male Silkies who did not breed. I was always suspicious of ones that looked more like females. All my young boys were tested on old hussy hens.I would not keep a male who did not want to breed even though I A-Id all my girls to keep them in condition, so I never had...
For heaven's sake join ABA if you have Silkies, or bantams. There are more ABA shows than APA shows. It is a shame that APA can no longer hold a show on it's own without ABA sanctioning as well, but that's a fact. The biggest competition is in Bantams at ABA shows.
