So "Talia" (named after Talia Shire by my 6 year old) is about a week and half to 2 weeks old, shes a white leghorn. She was acting normal until yesterday morning/afternoon when we noticed she wasnt eating, drinking, just closing her eyes ect.

I browsed the forum and came up with she needed some nursing, so I got her to eat a bit of yoke and sugar water from an eye dropper, she seemed a bit better but still very very lethargic or she would try and get under the other chicks wings.

It is about 95 degrees out and I have the 100 watt bulb about 3 1/2 feet above one part of the brooder in the garage. All the other chicks are doing great, she just seems to have something going on. I noticed after feeding her some yoke a blister like bubble on her right shoulder, not sure if this is a swollen crop or not being a first time chicken owner. She did make a blackish wet poo when I put her by herself in a small box to run in side. Any ideas? Shes not looking so great, nutra drench will be here tomorrow.

Also I have now raised the water holder out of the shavings to make sure eating the shavings is not causing this, impacted crop.

quick update I continued to lightlty rub her "crop" and it seemed to almost deflate, looked like a lot of air was in there, instantly she opened her eyes, will check her again in a bit, does that sound right to you guys?

one more update, she just went down hill and couldnt even stand, gave her a little probiotics with yoke

Oh my! Poor baby!

Is she still ok? Any other symptoms?

Very lethargic, not eating, was laying flat on her belly but not sleeping. When you pic her up her eyes close, not alert at all.

shes pretty much done I think, got her wrapped in a baby wash cloth under the 250 watt which seemed to calm her down a bit, she was shaking even though it was 95 degrees in the room. Hopefully she goes quietly in comfort tonight, if not I think I might have to take care of it if she continues to suffer

Well talia is gone, she was spitting eveyyhing up and couldn't even stand or keep her head up. I do think she had some kind of blockage

My royal Palm hen has what I believe is an impacted crop I have been emptying her and I started my flock on anti parasitic medicine if any one has some advice I would appreciate it very much and sorry to hear about the bitty

Hi there royalpalm:) if your chicken(s) do have impacted crop make sure that you have enough grit or oyster shell available for them to get:) it helps them break down their food. Are they having trouble breathing, engorged+jar crop?
