Old thread, couple of new things.. I too use them for trash and leaves and fallen or pruned limbs. Also, easy leaf & pine straw storage and totes. Can be packed pretty tight - then shifted to coops to dump out for the chickens to spread.
I used them to block in some bantams and orpingtons that were too small and could get out of the 2x4 squared wire that I used as temporary grazing paddocks. Yep, must of had too much time on my hands - that took a while to stitch onto the wire with haystring and a rug needle...But it worked all summer and into the fall!
Then I also loom the haystring (we get large round bales wrapped in hay string for our ponies = lots of string!!) to use as a way to hold bags onto the rabbit cages I start chicks in...

I also have them set up as grow bags that were supposed to be planted in Aug/Sept w/ plants that would do well into the winter for us. They got filled with rabbit and chicken compost, topped with garden soil for planting and then...weekends got away from me and they never got seeded. Hopefully they will not completely disintegrate over the winter & I will plant them in the spring. Pictures haven't been cropped/resized yet...
I have not yet tried making the tote bags or an apron, but will eventually... Next project will be mixing cement & shredded paper/cardboard together, filling the bags & using the as the base of the next chicken hoop coop that will be in a permanent position. That way, won't have to worry about the treated 2x4's rotting out. And who says you need wooden forms anyway? If I do it right, can make them into planters in the centers and plant useful plants around the coops, too! Will try to remember to update next spring with those projects!
