Just candled my eggs

I opened one. The only reason I did is because I didn't see blood vessels before. When I opened it, it looked wierd. the egg was just full of yellow goo. It looked like the yolk, but it didn't look like it was fertilized. The goo filled up 3 quarters of the egg.

I agree with kvmommy. sounds like it was scrambled. all 5 of the marans eggs i got were that way. not one developed at all.

on the plus side, I've got all 8 bantam eggs hatched (set 11 but 2 were clear from the start and 1 early quitter), 4 EE have hatched, 1 more internally pipped. 9 went into lockdown but 4 of them i think quit before lockdown. couldn't tell, the shells were so dark. and of my 21 dorking eggs, 1 is zipping now, and 1 hatched last night. 13 quit before 14 days, and the others look like they quit somewhere soon after. but hey, i'll take the 2. and pretty sure the 1st is a pullet.
