Hello all,

I'm not sure if it's possible to determine the breed and sex of these chicks, but I'll take my chance. I bought three day old chicks almost 4 weeks ago from a local market-place, the seller said that they are eggers. And one week later than that I've bought two meat chicks from the same seller, he said that they're breed is "aybora" I'm guessing that to be a local Turkish name for Cornish X maybe?

Would you please check these photos and tell the sex and breeds if it's possible?

They don't have names yet, but I call them with nicknames. :)

1. Alaca

2. Sari

3. Kara

4. Aybora (Meat Chick)

First three chicks are 4 weeks old. Last meat one is 3 weeks old. I can take additional photos from different angles if necessary.

Thanks all in advance. These are my first ever chicks :) My first experience with chickens!

Thanks for your answer. You are probably right, they are called "köy tavuğu" here, which translates to "village chicken". They are some mix for sure but maybe some experts can say which breeds they are mixed from?

#1 looks like it has green legs, so it is probably an easter egger. I have no idea about the others though. Have you checked to see what type of combs they have? Most easter eggers will have a pea comb. However, since easter eggers are not a defined breed, they CAN have single combs sometimes.

I am certainly no expert, but number three kind of looks like a black sex link male because of the barring and coloring. number 4 also looks like a roo to me because of the big feet and wattle already

Well, if you're not in the US, and somewhere where in a "village", then probably not really any breeds, per se. And US hatchery breeds probably won't apply.

Thanks all for the answers, I really appreciate it. These answers teach me a lot.

I wonder how many roos I got because if they are sex links I suspect this seller is selling mostly roos

I will keep one roo for sure (I don't know local laws but I hear crowing every morning, so it's possible to keep a roo in my city

) Still I hope other two are pullets...
