OK, went online, and yes, there is a breed of bantam called Kentucky Speck. And a breeder is on BYC. Suggest you search Kentucky Speck in the breeds Forum. I went to Bing and searched there and two showed up. One in columbus, IN and one more. Either way, you get pics and phone numbers.. Should help you determine if yours is a Kentucky.
It doesn't appear as though the rooster is a Speck and if that "pullet" is a chick, it's also a cockerel. The Kentucky Speck is an unrecognized breed however.
And the roo has an awful lot of the reddish gold accents. None of the pics I saw online had any of that color. Does anyone know the breeds used to create this unusual coloring?
Reading the thread I posted above, the history of this "breed" is unknown at best. I'm of the school that thinks it's a local mixed breed in KY that has been named for the region.
