Hello everyone!

After many tries, my broody silkies finally got chicks. They hatched yesterday on day 19. I was so excited that I couldn't leave the girls alone. Hatching is much harder under a broody because you can't watch them hatch without lifting up the broody, which I know they don't like. I've never seen a more vicious hen!

I am just overjoyed and so happy for my girls. I hope they are good mommas!
You know what's kinda funny? The color of the chicks almost match thier moms.

Here's Pumpkin and her baby.

And if anyone has good name ideas I'd love to know.

Also, if you are using cedar shavings you need to switch to pine shavings. The cedar aroma is a bit overwhelming for chickens.

Yes, someone told me that earlier. I switched it out for hay.
Some of my girls have used it their whole lives. Will they be okay?
