My chickens started pooping blood about 3 days ago. I have been doing some research and I believe that they have Coccidiosis. What sort of medication should I use and is there a medicated feed for this?

I went online last night and purchased Corid. Is this basically the same stuff?

My one hen is literally falling asleep in my hands. Is it ok to dose with a syringe to get a jumpstart on this infection?

Yes, I put a double or triple dose of Corid in water and give orally via syringe to jump-start the chicks and make them feel better. Just give a little of this heavily medicated water every hour until they start to perk up, then reduce the dosage to the normal (for liquid Corid it's 1 tsp per 1 gallon of water) for 5 days OR 7 days if there's still blood in the poop at 5 days. Good luck!

Liquid corid is 2 tsp per gallon of water, corid powder is 1/2 tsp per gallon of water.

Thank you for the measurements for the corid powder.

I have 1 chick that seems to have this cocci. She's got very little energy, having trouble standing & doesn't have any balance. She is breathing fast too. Hopefully this is what she has and its not too late.

Poor little thing :(

Also provide supplemental heat even if fully feathered. Make so bird can get away from heat source is needed.
