I got a bantam frizzle xSilkie 2 weeks ago, got told she was a pullet female around 6 or 8 weeks.
At the same time I got 2 Australorp pullets and while they sound like chicks still - chirp/tweeting - the frizzle is making the "eerrrr" complaining sound already - increasingly today.
So I have 2...
Looking for your help, guys! I've got four birds that I need to figure out if they're hens or roos. Two are brown/multi, one is white, and one is black and white. (We need to get rid of the roos, per law). Thanks in advance!!! (My guess is the white and white/black one are hens).
Over the summer we hatched some Americauna and blue laced red Wyandotte eggs. This is the only one we kept because we were told it was a she but I’m thinking not. The legs are so thick and the tail!
Also, what about my polish? I’m hoping Priscilla really is a she bird. I love her so!
Fairly new to raising my own chickens, I just got this youngin along with two others from a breeder who claims to know his stuff. It’s Suppose to be a hen, but to me, looks more like a young rooster. What do y’all think? Please and Thankyou!
Hey Everyone,
So about the begging of June I and my little sister placed 12 barnyard mix eggs in our incubator aster the 21 days only one hatched although most showed being fertile in candeling and she is my little sisters favorite chicken we called her Freddie asuming it’s a she and was just...
Hi everyone!
Hopefully you can help me crack this case. One of my three girls is looking like a rooster and I can’t have roosters where I live :(
They are all three Rhode Island Reds. We got them in April so I want to say they are about four months old. I’ve been doing loads of research and all...
My 4 ducklings are growing up, they are currently 2 months old.. Time to play guess the gender. None have drake feathers yet, but here are videos of their quacks. Videos are uploaded to youtube since I cant seem to figure out how to post them on here.

i got two chicks from a friend who got an order from Murray McMurray they were extra chicks so all i know is one is a cochin, it is supposed to be a blue but it seems like it might be a self blue aka lavender because of how light in color it is.
the second chick is supposed to be a silver...
The chick in question is only 2-3 weeks old so I'm pretty sure it's way too early to tell but I'm being impatient since a friend told me she thinks it's a roo.. She/he was the first to roost and is always finding the highest roosts, I have no idea if that makes a difference or not. She/he is my...
I am attaching pictures of my silkie who is about 14 weeks old. I am taking my polish cockerel to be re-homed today because we can’t have roosters and we are now suspecting our silkie might also be a boy. Wondering if anyone can help me determine that with these pictures. My daughter heard a...
Hello,
I’m new to chickens and now have a flock of 15. When I first got chickens, we got 2 bantams ( one died ), 2 BR and 2 RIR ( so we thought ). Then we added 2 more chickens ( mystery bantam and a bantam silkie ) and finally 4 Black Sex link. I’ve scoured this sight to figure out the sex of...
I got two RIR at the same time from TSC they were labeled as Pullets. Now that they are about 5 1/2 weeks and I think one might be a Rooster but I'm not sure. What's making me question it is; it is bigger in size, the tail feathers are a bit longer, and less mellow than the other RIR. She or he...
I posted 7 weeks ago asking if people could pick the sex of my two chicks , most people said too young and post again later so doing that now .
Pretty sure they have the same biological mother , and different fathers
They will be 8 weeks old tomorrow/next day and current photos taken in last...
Hello all. I know that there are several rooster vs. pullet posts here...I've obsessed over many of them. However, I can't decide if we have a BLRW pullet or a rooster. We've only had chicks for about a year and our first accidental rooster was heartbreaking. We had to take "Dorothy" back to the...
