Hey all-
I’m in the process of making a chicken coop and chicken run for my 5 GLW hens. The coop is a big plastic shed and I’m going to buy wood and wire fencing to make an enclosed attached run for them to go in during the day. I live in CA near the forrest and next to a national forrest park...
We are moving soon and will be moving our seven urban hens with us. I would like to order a pre-fabricated coop with run that does not need a six week lead time. Who has the best, high-quality pre-fab coops? We just don't have time to build one. I would love a coop that stands up to a Minnesota...
I currently have a plastic DIY shed that is 10' by 12'. They have a very large area outside but I'm wondering how many chickens this would fit. Bared rocks or RIR's to be exact. I've kept chickens in it before but am looking to find out what the optimal number would be. Thanks.
COLORFUL A-FRAME COOP FOR SALE.
It's 8.5ft long, 4.5ft base and 5ft at the pitch. I housed 8 very large bantam hens in it, but has potential to be used for quarantine/chicken hospital, time-out coop, or brooder/grow out coop.
Well-maintained and relatively clean. Could use some tightening up...
I am looking to build a coop with my dad. The images below are the dimensions and the finished product of the coop. The run will be 7x3. The coop itself will be 4x3. Is it alright that the large vent is where it is? I live in humid sometimes wet weather so I need a lot of air circulation so that...
we have to move out of state so I have chicken coop and a custom build chicken run to give away.

Hey everyone! My Uncles run a saw mill and have buttloads of cedar shavings that they let the family use for free!
I was wondering if I could use them in the chicken coop/run or under my wire rabbit cages??
If it helps the chicken coop and run is a basic dirt floor. So is the flooring of...
Not quite finished, have a friend still working on the sign with the ladies names and the name of the coop. I' m having a blast making it "pretty", not quite there yet.
Aren't hobbies fun!
The only predator that I know of for sure that has attacked on our property is a mountain lion. A couple of years ago before we owned the place, a cat attacked one of the horses here. It did not end well for the horse. Can chicken coops be made safe from cougars? Will electricity do it?
hey guys I was wondering if a rooster would round up my hens. I like to keep my chickens free range but they’re wondering to far and going deep in the woods and by my neighbors house (even though it’s a whole field away!) and I can’t keep running outside every couple minutes to chase them back...
Has anyone ever remodeled a camper into a coop? Thinking about building a new coop and I really am considering a camper coop. If anyone has done one, any tips or pictures.
Finished with our chicken coop Hotel. My hubby did an amazing job building it. Hotel accommodations include four roomy perches, working big windows with a view, sky lights and room service. The guests at the Hotel Egglagio are very happy. Thank you so much honey!
So, I’ve decided I want more chickens. I only have one right now but I’ve grew up around chickens. I’m placing an order soon for some different breeds. I want to start working on an enclosure though. I want to build the ultimate chicken mansion with a huge run.
So if anyone can give me some...
Hi all!
My coop is just about done! Here it is! (The nesting boxes are not painted, there is no lock on the door, and the run is not put in, doing that later today, the door to clean it is not cut.)
Inside: the roost.
When using the deep bedding method in the coop how often do all of you change it out completely? I was so use to cleaning and sanitizing my coop every week and basic cleaning everyday. My life was revolving around my chickens and it seemed I had no time for anything else so I read about deep...
Me and my aid/special needs assistant started our chicken flock 3 weeks before building and buying the chicken coop and run. We went to tractor supply after eating lunch and looked at the list of live baby chicken chicks in large grey tubs with heaters and feeders and waterers. We each picked...
I currently have 4 chicks hopefully all are hens I kept them in a box for about 1.5 weeks and built them a coop in the mean time now they stay in the coop except I let them in the yard for a few hours a day thoughts on the coop are what I'm looking for thanks!
Chicken keeping does not have to be difficult or stressful, and you shouldn’t have to spend your time worrying about the pending threat that rats can be to your backyard flock, it’s a part of life and if you put in place the steps listed below, you and your girls will be able to sleep a little...
I've posted a thread like this one (it went dead and nobody was replying!) so I just quickly need some help with your chicken coop substrate. I dont normally have any trouble with lice or flee's and some people say they flip every week and others say they flip every year(I think its something to...
