I have a Molted Black Cochin Frizzle Roo and thinking about breeding him with black and blue silkies. Good idea ? Bad Idea? And what do you think they will look like ? And info would be greatly appreciated!
I was looking for D’Uccles and grabbed two that were self blue. These other two one is more golden and other is lighter. Was looking for cheeks! But think the lighter one is a Cochin. Any hints?
My bantam Lemon Splash rooster has successfully produced a fertile egg with my bantam SL Wyandotte. Any ideas what I’ll be looking at, in terms of the chick? Feather footed, but genetically, which coloring might be more dominant? It was so cool to see it moving around when we candled tonight!
6 mos old. Located in Schuyler County, NY. Ended up with several roos in my last batch of chicks and he's the last I need to rehome. Little bit more "active" as he's maturing but fairly nice little guy.
We hatched our first group eggs and got 5 Light susses and 1 bantam cochin. I had so much fun hatching that I am having a hard time waiting until after our vacation in April to hatch some more. I totally see why it can be so addicting to hatch.
Hello!

I am new to keeping chickens and just set up a run in the backyard where these 3...

I know someone who breeds blue millefleur cochin bantams and i'm going to try and buy some of her next year when she starts breeding again. I was wondering, does this work like regular blue? I mean, will it throw regular millefleur and splash millefleur? I understand these are really quite rare...
So I have a trio of gold blacklaced cochins and I was wondering wether there's another cochin color which i can cross to the gold blacklaced, but still get pure color offspring of one or both of those colors?
Ex: blue marans x black marans= 50/50 pure black or blue
Hi guys, I'm new to byc and i have a question. You see, i have a trio of gold blacklaced cochin bantams and i also have a buff cochin bantam. All of which are purebred and pure in colour. What would i get if i crossed the buff hen to the gold blacklaced roo? And would i be able to tell the...
Hey everybody!
I think I'm just having a round of bad luck this month in relation to my chickens, ahh.
Okay, so my cochin bantam went broody (actually if anyone knows this kind very well, I don't know exactly what she is and i would like to know, if no one who answers this forum knows, then i...
I am looking for a new home for our Mottled Cochin Bantam. He is mild and has the crazies crow. He sounds like a dinosaur. He is wonderfully fluffy.

Few weeks ago I fell victim to TSC late season chick days. It appears my "assorted bantam" bin gave me a cochin. I was in the coop/brooder tonight checking over everyone and noticed tell-tale redness of a young cockerel. These babies are only 3 weeks old. I don't want to be right but "it" is a...
Do Isabel cochins exist in the US? I think the color is gorgeous and I’d love to find some, but I’m not having any luck. Does anyone know names/contact info of anyone who breeds them?
If not, can anyone point me in the direction of some good info on genetics and how I’d even go about breeding...
I'm assuming this baby is a frizzle cochin. But I'm wondering what is this color called with the blue under the red? And what color might I get if I breed her with my buff cochin roo?
