    Is this a normal comb?

Just noticed one of my RIR’s comb looking strange. She seems to have some dark spots on her comb which weren’t there previously. They do look a little bit darker and more defined in person. Any idea what this could be? Or am I totally overthinking it and it’s completely normal 😂

    Please help

Hello. We have 8 chickens in total. 3 of them are fully grown almost 2 years old, and 5 are around 3 months. 3 of them are roosters, which we are working on finding homes for. One of the 3 month old roosters i am very worried about. His comb appears to be bleeding and he is just sleeping under...

    Breeds? Sexes? Help! Lol

Hey all, we just purchased 3 older chicks to our flock. I believe they are all around the 4-5 week mark. We purchased the red/brown one with patterned feathers hoping that he is a cockerel, and the black and buff ones might be pullets — though the slight red waddles on that black one have me...

    Is this comb normal?

I hope this is the right place to post this! So, two of my EE chicks have this different looking comb compared to the others. Most of the chicks have pea combs but some are singles. Both of the chicks with this odd looking comb have small crests, but none of the others do. I got a picture of...

When are pullets combs supposed to get their color?

I have three 11 week old pullets. 1 black Australorp and 2 barred rocks. They have pretty short combs and they aren’t really red but more on the light pink side. They also look kind of dry. This is my first time having chickens so I just want to make sure they are alright.

BLRW baby chick has single comb???

25 days ago I was given 6 BLRW hatching eggs from a friend who wanted to see if the eggs were fertile,5/6 eggs were fertile. Four of the chicks hatched yesterday(day 24), but one of them has a single comb, is this normal? He had all the BLRW's in their separate breeding pen and all of them have...

6 week partridge plymouth rock gender??

This is a partridge plymouth rock at approximately 6 weeks. I’ve had horrible luck with chicks turning into roos and the fact that this one has a comb starting freaks me out. However, it’s mostly yellow and I don’t really see any wattles forming yet so those seem like good signs. What’s your...

When do combs turn pink/red? Dominique

I have two 4 week old dominiques. They were sold to me as female, and all the signs have pointed to them being female (shadowing on legs and feet, getting feathers quickly, uniform spot on head). I have noticed that one of them has a comb that is slightly bigger and getting more red than her...

Black spots on combs; frostbite, fowl pox or are they pecking each other

There are a lot of post on here with the same issue for the last month. I read so many of them to try to find an answer for my girls. Honestly, I'm still not certain what it was. The temperature dropped to the 20's and 30's. A lot of black spots appeared on Zena. Then Lily had four or five of...

    Sick Chicken

I think I have a sick chicken or she’s super stressed. She’s been a bit bullied and today I had to pull her from the coop because her comb was bleeding (someone took a small piece of it) and her comb is more pink than red which I had just assumed was weather related but now I have her in my...

Black and white spots on chicken comb

:frowHi there, My gorgeous hen Rocky has some black and whitish spots on her comb. I thought it was dirt at first, but I tried to wipe it off with my finger and it seems like it's stuck on there. I also checked out some other articles like this, and they said it might be pecking scabs, but I'm...
