    Bougie Indoor Runner!

OK, this is gonna be a lot, sorry in advance. So I've had multiple sets of runner ducks, usually m/f pairs. This time I went with just a single female. She's about 4 months old, and so far NOT like my other ducks. 1. She HATES no LOATHES to be outside. If I put her out, she quacks at the door...

    Food Schedule?

I have two geese and two ducks. I read somewhat that people have them on a schedule for feeding. Is that necessary? If so what kind of schedule should they be on? The bigger ones are around 9 weeks, the younger are around 3 weeks. Should just the big ones be on a schedule right now? Suggestions...

    Feeding an adopted chicken

Hey there, earlier today while I was walking by Lydgate beach I spotted a young chicken, seemingly a cockerel, lying strangely. I approached and once I got within a yard it got up and stumbled away. It can barely walk, as it tries to step forward it trips and falls. Later, I grabbed it and kept...

My dogs love to eat my chickens... food!

This is a shot of our Gen1 Marge eating for the first time with our Gen2 Marge together with Rat. A puppy we are babysitting for our daughter. What you don't see are the other two dogs who go nuts over chicken food. All my dogs love chicken food!

    Layer and Grower Feed

Hello Everyone! I am having a small situation about how I should feed my chickens. I have four hens total, three that have NOT started laying and one recently STARTED five days ago. The three who have not started laying yet are still on grower feed crumbles, which has about 18% protein, and...

Changed pellet brand, chickens won't eat

I have 3 bantams and 1 regular hen in a garden coop. I've been getting pellets from a shop for a few years, but because of the awkward weight of a full-size 20-liter bag, I switched to a different company when I found one that would deliver. And they're refusing to eat! They act like there is no...

Lots of feeding questions for new goslings

Hi, I just became a goose mom! I was given 2 Toulouse geese that are one week old and I am getting such mixed advice on feeding! Could anyone help me? 1. They are eating non medicated starter crumbles that says it's for chicks, ducklings, and goslings. It is 18% protein, but it only says...

    Hi and stuff

My family and I just recently acquired a couple of chicks we plan to grow and breed. They are supposed to be some sort of red sex linked chicks and seem to be about a week to a couple of weeks old. Primarily I am a plant guy. I love growing fruit trees, nut trees, flowers, berry bushes...

Can you mix feed for meat birds & layers?

I've got Rhode Island Reds on the way & we're considering adding meat birds to the order (Buckeyes). Since they're supposed to have different percentages of protein, can you mix the feeds or give the birds one or the other? Several people here have mentioned they feed with no regard to the...

    Stubborn horse :(

Hi! My 10 year old mare was recently diagnosed with sand in her colon. Apparently, it's been there for a few years....she is a rescue horse and she picked up some bad habits. The vet suggested we give her some Sand Clear mixed in with Equine Senior. My mare just sniffs and won't eat it...

    Ducklings and brine shrimp?

We feed our betta frozen brine shrimp and I was curious if I could give some to our 3 week old ducklings as well? Maybe even our 7 week old chicks and also our hens? It's just the usual thing from petco, it comes in a tray with like 30 pouches. It takes our single betta awhile to eat one pouch...

feeding adult duck with the ducklings

I have a female who is about 1.5 years old and 3 baby ducks a little over a month old. My adult female, charlie, hasn't laid an egg since I moved to New York from North Carolina last July. I thought she would start in the spring but she has not... she's gone through a lot of deaths around her...

Kaki Campbell owners looking for some answers

My husband and I bought 6 ducklings 5 days ago. They are now 7 days old. We keep them in our basement in a wooden box 3'*5' brooder with heat lamp next to the wood stove. A few days ago I noticed one of the ducklings we're "sneezing" in the water then it started sneezing out of the water now...

    Feeding new chicks with old

My three 5-6 week old chicks will be put in a separated area of the coop/run with 5 other older hens sometime within the next week or so. We can keep them separated for as long as it takes (we're thinking a few weeks). But then once we have everyone together the new chicks will be around 10-11...

What to feed ducks out of??

Hi guys! My new ducks still aren't eating out of trough, what do you use to feed your ducks? I'm worried it may be a little too deep for them. I've inserted picture of what I use. Also how much should I be feeding 2 adult females? At the moment I'm giving them 340g a day but they aren't eating...

    First time duck owner

Yesterday I purchased my first two point of lay khaki campbells! I purchased a bowl for them to eat out of but they don't seem to be eating out of it, but will eat when their food is on the floor? Shall I just continue to feed them off the floor or keep trying with the bowl or try a feed skip?
