More ducks dead and paralyzed. Botulism?

Ten dead now. They're always either paralyzed or have parts paralyzed. I'm getting a culture done on one of them. The Muscovy in this photo thankfully looks better after some TLC charcoal chick starter and probiotics his neck is not locked anymore and he can move. There are now three in that are...

When is it humane to euthanise unwanted eggs?

Hi there, I’m hatching a few Muscovy Eggs. Currently have 6 going but I’ll only need about 4, I’ve been wondering to what point it is humane that I dispose of any extra unwanted eggs if too many develop? I read it’s up until 80% of growth, on what day of incubation will they be 80%? I would hate...

    Back of neck molting/pecking

My female muscovy duck is losing feathers at the back of her neck - I have noticed a large amount of her feathers scattered all around their pen in a small amount of time. I saw her and our drake pecking each others feathers, unsure if this is a mating thing or if they are hurting each other...

    Looking to raise Muscovy fowl

    1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I’ve never raised chickens and, after researching, have decided they will not be a good fit for us. Instead, I am seriously looking at Muscovy fowl as an excellent fit for our situation. (2) How many chickens do you have right now...

Why is my Muscovy hen being so aggressive??

My dear Muscovy, Cheech, has developed some concerning behavior in the past 24 hours. She's been more vocal and a bit needier of my attention than usual, and now she's attacking my 3 youngest. They were introduced and started sharing and run and coop in August. Since then, she's basically...

    My duck dislocated her leg

So, the title is basically my entire problem. I'm already out $260 and it's gonna cost a hell of a lot more. Doc says he's never done this on a duck before and will only charge for sedation, if it fails. Has anyone experienced this? Should I go to a professional, or could this possibly be done...

Introducing new drakes to established flock- Advice Needed!

Hey there! So I have a flock of muscovies I've had them for about a year and a half. There are 13 hens and one drake at the moment, along with 10 babies. Muscovy in the rain

Does anyone have a muscovy as silly as mine? She's in the back right. Check out the way she stands in the rain. I don't think she dislikes it because she never goes in or under the coop for shelter. She'll just stand in it looking like a penguin or a vampire. It's so silly. Is this normal lol?

Ducks & chicken not getting along

I have 2 Muscovy ducks and 1 silky chicken who we’ve had living in the same coop for over 2yrs. They’ve always got along fine, except the past week or two they (chicken and 1 duck) have singled out one of my ducks and will chase her around and pull her feathers. She is so scared and sits alone...
