I’ve never had any issues with her as far as laying goes. Today, she started showing all of the signs of egg binding, and so I took her to the vet. They...

    Gasping for air

My four month old Orpington is having a tough week. She is much lighter than her same age friend, but she appears to be eating enough. Yesterday she appeared to be gasping for air. Any ideas? Last week one our eight 4 to 5 month-old chickens died overnight, no sign of trauma.

Hi I'm new to BYC and needed help identifying 2 of my chickens. The backstory is I ordered hatching eggs from my pet chicken and they gave me a sheet with codes so I can tell what chicks might hatch from the eggs I bought. Do I have 2 Roosters!? 12 week old Wyandotte & Orpington

Hello, I am new to backyard chicken farming. We purchased 7 “female” newborn chicks in April (born 4/1/20). They are now about 3 months/12 weeks old, all different breeds. Sex these two mixed chicks

Hi. Can you tell me if these two mixed chicks are cockerels or pullets? The bigger one, with spots on the chest is around six weeks old and kinda looks like a pullet to me, even though in its first three weeks of life it looked like a cockerel. I think it's a mix between light brahma X silver...
