Hello,
I’m wondering if anyone has a sort of guide for preparing and showing hens at a county 4H competition. For goats/sheep there are guides for how much to feed and how to care for their wool, etc. but I haven’t found anything like that for poultry. Any tips would be great, thanks!
Hi there!
We just started our flock from chicks in a brooder box in our breezeway, now about six weeks old and far too large to stay in the box much longer. We have six total (we planned to have three, but all the internet reading suggested buying more because they sometimes die…but now we have...
I'll be doing a hatch-along with twelve eggs!
I might as well tell you guys about the eggs!
x3 Easter eggers with a grassy green colouration and a cyan hue.
x6 Silkie bantams. (Most likely white in colouration, as the mother was a white silkie.)
x3 unknown eggs, that are possibly...
Does anybody have tips on how to hatch eggs or just useful information that I might need? If you do, please say, as I'm new to raising chickens.
I also have pets I need to teach to not try to eat the chicks/eggs.
1. An older, gentle black cat.
2. An excitable rottweiler.
3. A loving...

I’ve made two homage incubators (one is for lockdown one is for the first 16 days. Because I don’t want too much humidity)

I have one that’s supposed to hatch today but hasn’t made a sound...
