••• IMPORTANT - Read Regarding BYC Downtime & Malware Warning •••

Registry edits are out of my league, but I'd try this:

backup your registry
do a search for "NameServer"

The results may be something that needs to be removed... but it could also be a proper PC setting.

Helmstead, take a gander at this (combo fix might do the job): http://forums.techguy.org/virus-other-malware-removal/949821-search-engine-redirecting-ntdevice-exe.html

You can read about combofix here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

If
you're unfamiliar with the drill, then create an account on either the techguy.org site or at bleepingcomputer and let them walk you through it. Probably just need to clean out TCP/IP and related reg. entries

I don't even remember where I read it, but I had someone else download MalwareBytes, Trojan Remover, and UnHackMe onto a disc, then I ran all three. MalwareBytes uncovered 4 trojans, and the others a few more. It got rid of the fake Windows Security Center, which was preventing all the virus updating. then I got rig of McAfee, since they let me down so badly, and installed ESET NOD32 antivirus, and a firewall, and things seem okay.

BUT I can't get into Yahoo Mail or Messenger. I get an error code for a bunch of things, and tried the fixes I googled, to no avail.
Anyone solve this one yet? I'm waiting for Yahoo to reply.

I got a warning about a week and a half ago and it wouldn't let me open the website. So knowing this website is ok I tired again and same thing so then I decided to empty my temp folders, the history and cookies. not even 15 minutes later after cleaning up my computer I tried it again and there was no issue. I had no clue there was a problem until I just read this post I totally thought it was another program trying to gain access into my pc.
