I know the feeling, oddly enough that's how I am everywhere else but with horses. I've been taught by all of my instructors that if you give up, your horses will eventually do whatever they want.

And trust me, I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong.

Also, have you tried being verbal with your horse? Some people give you weird looks for talking to them in a calm tone when trying to soothe them when they're worked up, but it really works. All you really need to say is, "Easy Dezi," or, "It's okay Dezi," or, "You're fine. What's wrong?" or something along those lines a few times while scratching their shoulder or withers (you probably know this already, but horses LOVE wither scratches because its what their mothers did to them as foals). Just an idea if you haven't tried it yet.

Thanks, Zin. I'm sure I'm not doing everything right. Haha, yeah, I get that a lot, I talk to my chickens at shows and sometimes people just stare at me like I'm a nut. Thanks! I haven't thought of that, although I was reading this thing that scratching is better than patting a horse because patting could be taken as hitting..and I used to pat Dez all the time. :/ Still catch myself doing it from time to time and I have to remind myself scratch not pat. Encouragement is one of the major things I need right now..thanks you guys. Don't be afraid to tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I should be doing, I won't get mad, I know I need it.

LOL i dont work her that hard yet because she still needs oh, 200 pound to be up to full weight.

LOL she is not a pony, but not tall for me, i dont like super tall horses, i can barely get on, or not at all, when i do i *most of the time* streach my leg to far, i am tall in my 4-h group for my age for a girl, even taller then my trainer now *XD yep* but i still cant get on alot on horses.

Yeah, scratching would probably be better for a sensitive, abuse scarred horse. Especially on the withers. :3

I loove tall horses! Especially ones with large barrels that I can barely wrap my legs around - now those horses are FUN!
