Hi. I'm skipping around .... hope I have the right idea .... you don't have to replace the water in a small goldfish bowl if you aerate the water so that the oxygen is replaced. That's what those little bubblers are for that you see in the aquarium in the Dentist's office. A simple little pump from the pet store shouldn't cost much.
Then the next reason for changing the water is filth. You can get filtration systems, but if you want to keep it simple try syphoning the poop out with a small plastic hose. I recommend you don't start the syphon by sucking on the tube.
Then top off the fishbowl with more water to replace the syphoned portion.
Cleaning it is for your satisfaction. Goldfish don't care if you can even see through it. I know cuz mine got like that when I was a kid.
