Have you tried looking at a porch light or a street light at night? Even when we were in the city, katydids and the like swarmed!

I swarm? I'm not usualy attracted to bright lights, mostly I'm told to avoid them....

This beautiful bug's lovely hue comes from a genetic condition (can't really call pink a defect) known as erythrism. We're not sure what circumstances made natural selection favor this adaptation -- pink trees, perhaps?
