Wow, that's a lot of fires. I guess the US can get more hazardous than I originally thought...

I suppose you've heard about the fires around Austalia, especially the Victorian disaster in 2009? Fires are pretty bad, they do terrible things

Oh yes, I remember that disaster... It was all over the news back then.

I posted a fair amount of information above your post regarding the fires.

I don't mind the time differences, it means I don't have an excuse to spend my entire life on BYC.

I usually chat in the morning, and make posts and read threads in the afternoon. Or, if Spock is online, which he usually is, I talk to him

Hawaii? Aww, that sucks! Who knows, maybe one day one of you will go on vacation...
My friend, the one who sucks at science, also has an anime forum friend who lives in Hawaii. They appear to be pretty close too

It was terrible, seeing the stories on the news... thankfully, I don't live in a very fire-prone area, but I guess you can never be too careful.

I am a pom! i even have a British passport now, we've travelled so much!

I am thinking of moving back there in a few years' time, I miss my old friends, and some of the places I used to visit regularly.
How about we make a pact together? I tried to stay to Crazy pullets once, but that didn't work. I found myself drifting over to the Aussies thread and RR

Perhaps a BYC restrictions list: What threads we'll allow ourselves to go on?

I'm not sure. Perhaps it's the scenery. I've never really seen any place quite as picturesque as Hawaii, there never even seems to be a cloud in the sky there!
My dad's taken business trips everywhere

He goes to Adelaide or Brisbane or some other city maybe once a month, and when we were in Europe he's popped over to awesome places like Austria...

I think it's called "Black Saturday" now. I wonder how those people are getting along with rebuilding their lives: it seems after a few weeks the media gets bored of one story and moves on, you never really get to find out what happened to all the people they interviewed about that tragedy
