Brambleberry shot a mystified look at Tawnypelt, wondering what was up and followed Lostcry and Tawnypelt into the den

Lostcry sat in one of the corners, expression troubled while she curled her tail around her paws. For a moment she stared at Brambleberry and Tawnypelt, head tilted to one side as she tried to decide exactly how to proceed.

Finally, she sighed, pointed to herself with one paw, then pointed out into the depths of the western forest. She traced the sun's path through the sky twice.

"You'll be gone in that direction for two days?!" Brambleberry exclaimed "Why?"

Lostcry looked at her solemnly, and nodded, but did not elaborate.

With a raised paw, she pointed to both Tawnypelt and Brambleberry, and put her paw to her lips. Vaguely she gestured to the moon, then the landscape, then pointed with a twitching tail to the leader's den. Moonscape is to be leader until I come back. Or rather, Lostcry thought wryly, "if" I come back.

Tawnypelt nodded in understanding "Would you like one of us to come with? You might need some help translating if you mean strange cats"

She smiled gratefully, but shook her head. With any luck, Brightrose and Minkfur would be right where she had left them, and they had tried and true ways to understand her better than any other living cat.

With that, Lostcry rose, put a paw on Tawnypelt's shoulder, then departed through the camp and into the undergrowth, slipping away without being noticed by the other cats.

Brambleberry followed, even after Tawnypelt placed a warning tail on her shoulder "Please let me come Lostcry" She whispered "Who knows what you might run into! I could never forgive myself if I let you go like this and something bad happened to you"

Suddenly Lostcry stopped, smiling slightly to herself, touched by Brambleberry's determination, but when she turned to face the warrior, her face had become solemn once again. Her paws padded softly on the earth as she strode up to Brambleberry, put a paw on her shoulder, and looked at her firmly with a pair of determined green eyes. Trust me. She smiled, withdrew her paw, and proceeded to the edge of camp. She turned around once to make sure the two warriors were staying in the camp, where they were needed.

She stopped with a frown, her shoulders hunched in defeat. Just before Lostcry was out of earshot she murmured "Good luck"

With tremendous effort, Lostcry gave a strangled meow of farewell in reply, wincing slightly. Shaking her head, she gave one last flash of a smile before departing into the woods beyond--and into the familiar, yet unknown.

Tawnypelt licked her sisters ear's "Come on, lets head back"

Sungold appeared in front of her. "I want to come" she said quietly.
